This 4400 square foot, 4 bedroom home is located on the southwest side of beautiful Torch Lake and will accommodate your family or multiple families. Torch Lake has been labeled as Michigan's own slice of the Carribean. The gorgeous blue-green water views can be seen from all three levels of this home. It is located in Rapid City, but is very close to Elk Rapids and about 25 minutes from Traverse City. Some of the highlights of this spectacular home include an open floor plan, a walk-out basement, air conditioning, ceiling fans, 3.5 bathrooms, two levels of deck, fully-equipped kitchen, WiFi, streaming TV, main floor master, fire pit by the water, washer and dryer and much more. Torch Lake Beach Cottage situated on the west side (in a cove) enhancing the beautiful lake colors. Our cottage has 3,800 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, with 7 sliders giving access to the view. We can sleep upwards to 14 people. WiFi included We have a nice open kitchen and dinning area, that serves everyone well. New refrigerator and dishwasher, as well as a trash compactor. Only a limited number of short-term rental weeks are available. ** Our cozy family cottage has 100' of private waterfront on beautiful Torch Lake. The cottage has housed our family visits to Torch Lake for generations, and we'd like to share our little escape with others. Torch Lake is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and with one look into the crystal clear blue water you'll see why. We are fortunate to have a very gradual increase in depth for several hundred feet out into the water, creating a striking sight where the drop-offs signal the deeper blue depths of Torch. We have a dock that extends almost 90' out to the lake, with a 12'x12' platform at the end for enjoying some time in the sun. At the end of the dock it's not even 3' deep! Just down the road is the Torch River Bridge, near the famous Torch Lake Sandbar and Torch River. Just across the lake is the town of Alden. We're making frequent updates to the cottage and the property. In 2009 we made significant renovations, completely modernizing the kitchen, bathroom, and living areas (but taking care to retain the old cottage look and feel). In 2014, a clothes dryer and mooring anchor were added. And in 2015, we rebuilt the stone wall on the lakeshore and added sand to our small beach area out front. Golf Information: There are a number of top golf courses in the area, including designs by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Gary Player. Some of the more popular locations include Shanty Creek Resorts with 'The Legend', designed by Arnold Palmer, as well as 3 other courses and Grand Traverse Resort & Spa with 'The Bear' by Jack Nicklaus and 'The Wolverine' by Gary Player. Boating Information: Torch Lake is a great place to water-ski, go tubing, and do all sorts of other water sports. Perfect views of the turquoise waters Torch Lake is known for. On a clear night the family can sit around the fire pit or sit in the hammock and look at some of the clearest skies in North America. The Northern Lights also play random visits. The living area features a fireplace with a rustic pine mantel and one of the most comfortable sectional sofa I've been on. There is a full kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counter-tops, cherry wood cabinets, Bosch dishwasher, and convection/microwave ovens and a freestanding stainless gas stove. The downstairs has a finish area featuring a magnificent full bar with refrigerator, ice maker, and LED lighted shelves with 7 bar stools to entertain. The other side is a family room for watching late night movies or perfect for sports fans. Guests can also set up on-site tables and use this room for accomodating a corporate retreat working center. The dock leads to a sitting area for sunbathers or boat watchers. The sand is better than the infamous sandbar. Look at the pictures and see how clear the water is and the sugar sand bottom. At less than 3 feet, it is perfect for walking around or swimming in the deeper water a few feet away. The predominately western winds are protected from the ridge line that runs to the west of the property, so the cove is usually calmer than other places on the lake. The house has high speed wifi throughout and offers all premium cable channels. Televisions are in practicallly every room. This is a wonderful home, worthy of any group wanting to experience Torch Lake as a family or a group of colleagues. This lovely home sits on the NW side of Torch Lake, offering spectacular water views from nearly every room.  What a special setting. There are 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, will sleep up to 12 people max.  We are offering weekly rentals only in this home, which would be Sunday to Sunday. This home offers a large deep lot.  Plenty of room for the kids to play outside, 110 feet of Torch lake frontage.  There is a mooring anchor to keep your boat in the water.  This home is about 15 minutes north of the little town of Elk Rapids, that offers quaint shopping and dining, it is the home of Short's Brewery manufacturing plant.  Drive about 20 minutes further west and you are in Traverse City where you can go wine tasting on both Old Mission and Lelanau peninsulas.  The area also offers many challenging golf courses as well as hiking and mountain biking trails.  If you are looking for some day trips driving west about an hour and a half will take you to the Sleeping Bear Dunes or north for about an hour and a half is Mackinaw City where you can explore the city or catch a ferry and take a step back in time on Mackinac Island.  This a weekly rental and runs from Sunday to Sunday.  We do require our renters to be at least 25 years of age.  This is the perfect place to make the lasting family memories.

A twin sized floor mattress can also be provided. Sheets and towels are included, but bring your own beach towel. Plentiful games, books, DVDs, and a smart TV provide evening entertainment. Outdoors, enjoy the stunning lake from the grassy lawn or on the private dock. The crystal clear water will entice you to it. The front yard steeply drops to the water, with stairs descending the last few feet to the dock. Our shoreline is mostly rocky. An outdoor table and BBQ encourage you to stay outside. Launch your kayak from the shore. Experience hiking, wildlife viewing, and mountain biking through Glacial Hills Park or nearby national forests. Golf at one of the seven courses located in Bellaire, including The Legend designed by Arnold Palmer. Explore the 18,000 acres of Torch Lake or travel the 75-mile long waterway that is the Elk River Chain of Lakes. This cottage rental will create vacation memories you will never forget! Boats are welcome and we have enough room to park your trailer. Boats can't be attached to the dock for any length of time, as winds can pull the dock right out of the ground and set it and your boat afloat. We offer a mooring buoy for your convenience (1500 lbs of concrete anchor. You are responsible for assessing if this is enough to hold your boat) and that the equipment is in good shape. The dock, lifts, and buoy are available from June-September. Outside of these months, please ask me if it will be available for your stay. The nearest public boat launches are the Clam Lake Access (6 minute drive from the cottage- access is onto Clam Lake, and it's a short ride down onto Torch) and the Alden Township Access (10 minute drive from the cottage). Guests should bring their own beach towels, as cottage towels are not to be removed from the house. Please bring your own bathroom amenities. Firewood for the fire pit and charcoal for the BBQ are not provided. The cottage is all yours for the duration of your stay. The outside spaces and amenities, such as dock, patio, and BBQ, are shared with a small guest house on site (up to 4 guests or the owners). My husband and I spend many weekends in the guest house, so we look forward to meeting you. The garage is unavailable for guest use.

We include a dock and mooring buoy for your boat. There are also many opportunities to rent watercraft locally. Our home is fully furnished and we supply all linens, pillows, and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, coffee maker, dishes and all pots and pans. We also provide a washer and dryer. Our 3400 sq. ft. home features a large open kitchen and living room with sweeping views of Torch Lake. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and a bay window with a sitting area overlooking the lake, en suite and sliding glass door opening to the lake side patio. Also on the lakeside, there is another bedroom containing a queen-sized bed with a beautiful view of the lake. There are also 4 more bedrooms with 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds, 2 twin beds and a crib, and a twin bunk beds. The home also features a separate recreation room with a large screen TV, sitting area and Foosball table, for those rainy days to entertain the kids. This part of the 'Third Most Beautiful Lake in the World", does have a hard sand bottom that has rocks, bring water shoes. There is a large decking area for dining on the water or staring at the stars and turquoise waters. The kitchen has ample room for a couple chefs, gas stove and double oven.
